Songs for a Pain-y Day, Part 2
A bad-day playlist for when you're ready to feel better
In Part 1, I shared my Spotify list for songs I go to when I need to give myself space to mourn and cry. But what about when you’ve cried it out and you’re ready to feel comforted, but not quite ready to rock out?
Here’s my 2nd list:
These are songs that have a more positive outlook but are still soothing enough to listen to on your headphones with a pile of quilts pulled over your head, and all your pets curled around you. There are oldies like Fleetwood Mac, James Taylor, Bob Marley, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens, Miles Davis, Bill Withers, Simon and Garfunkel, and Willie Nelson. There are more recent oldies, like Cyndi Lauper, Ani DeFranco, Desiree, Fiona Apple, fun., Indigo Girls, and Peter Gabriel. And there are even more contemporary folks like Antony, Carrie Underwood, Florence and the Machine, Ingrid Michaelson, Jason Mraz, Norah Jones, and Sia.
I hope these songs bring you some comfort when times are tough.
