Hi! I’m Victoria.
I'm a writer, teacher, and artist with a whole mess of chronic conditions, including Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, and Mast Cell Activation Disease.

So many able-bodied people believe that life with chronic illness is tedious and depressing. I reject this idea totally. Life with chronic illness is sometimes hilarious, sometimes full of grief; sometimes embarrassing, sometimes triumphant; sometimes yes, totally depressing, and sometimes glamorous and beautiful.

All of us with chronic illness are different, unique people, but one thing that's true across the board is that we are some of the most courageous people I know. While able-bodied people sometimes view us as weak, we know that we're actually warriors who are managing things others can't even imagine. That's why I feel that anyone with a chronic illness is instantly an icon, a goddess, a king, a bad-ass.

If you're living that Chronic Iconic life, I have so much love and respect for you. Keep slaying, queen.
